Privacy Policy.
Cadence ("we", "us", "the app") is designed with a simple privacy principle: your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how it is handled, and your rights.
Cadence is local-first. Your tasks, answers, and plan are stored on your iPhone only. We do not operate any server that holds your personal data. We do not sell your data. We do not show advertising.
1. Information we collect
Stored on your device only
When you use Cadence, the app stores the following data locally on your iPhone (via Apple's standard on-device storage):
- Your first name (if you entered one during onboarding)
- Your onboarding answers (self-identification, pain points, energy pattern, goals, notification preference)
- Tasks you create, including title, duration, energy level, notes, and completion status
- Application preferences (e.g., whether to show energy indicators)
This data never leaves your device. We do not have access to it. If you delete the app, this data is erased.
Not collected
- Email address (Cadence does not require an account)
- Phone number
- Location
- Contacts
- Photos or camera access
- Health or fitness data
- Behavioral analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking pixels
2. Third-party services
Cadence uses a small number of third-party services strictly necessary to operate the app. None of these services receive personally identifying information from us.
Apple (App Store and StoreKit)
Purchases of Cadence Pro (monthly and annual subscriptions, including free trials) are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy.
RevenueCat
If you start a subscription, Cadence uses RevenueCat to validate and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier and your subscription product ID. RevenueCat does not receive your name, your tasks, or any other personal content. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
3. Notifications
Cadence can send local notifications (for example, reminders before a focus window) only if you grant notification permission on your device. These notifications are generated on your device. They are not delivered from a remote server.
4. Children's privacy
Cadence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Cadence does not collect personal information from anyone, this policy effectively applies to all users regardless of age.
5. Your rights
Because your data is stored only on your device, you are in control:
- Access: Every piece of data Cadence has is visible inside the app.
- Deletion: Delete the app (or reset onboarding from Settings) to erase all Cadence data from your device.
- Portability: Because we do not hold your data, there is no export to request from us.
If you are a resident of California (CCPA) or the European Economic Area (GDPR), the above rights are honored by default: we do not collect, store, sell, or share personal data on any server.
6. Subscriptions
Your Apple account handles all subscription billing. To view, cancel, or refund a subscription, open the iOS Settings app > [your name] > Subscriptions. Apple's subscription terms govern these transactions.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes (for example, if we add a server-based feature in a future version). Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app before taking effect.
